Postpartum Doula

A postpartum doula is a unique source of support, providing guidance, comfort and practical help to new parents as they navigate the challenges of the postpartum period.

Scope of Services

Birth and postpartum doulas provide holistic, traditional, and or your preferred preference to support families during the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. They offer a variety of services, depending on the individual needs of each family. During the prenatal period, doulas focus on helping families to plan for birth, providing physical and emotional support, and helping them to navigate the medical system (if in a hospital setting). During the birth, doulas act as labor companions, offering comfort measures, providing emotional and physical support, and advocating for the family’s wishes. After the birth, doulas offer postpartum support and resources, such as help with lactation support, infant care, and postpartum recovery. Each doula's services are different. It's important to hire a doula whose services best match your desired birth experience. Every doula offers their own specific range of services, so choose one that meets your needs and expectations.
